Abstract: In this workshop and seminar series, Dr. Elise Klein talks about her recent publication Postdevelopment in Practice: Alternatives, Economies, Ontologies (co-edited with Carlos Eduardo Morreo) (London and New York: Routledge, 2019). The workshop on December 4 introduces basic concept of the book, mapping out a variety of ideas of postdevelopment in practice. The lunchtime seminar on December 5 talks about postdevelopment in the Global North, with particular focus on care practices in Australia. The workshop on December 6 introduces global trend of postdevelopment research and its implication on Japanese civil society.
Speaker Information: Dr. Elise Klein is a Senior Lecturer of Development Studies in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
