Concept:

Since the beginning of twenty-first century, humanity faces multiple crises of the globalized society such as global warming, global Inequality, the growing risk of technoscience and the rise of pandemic. These events put into question human capacity of sustainable and peaceful coexistence within the limits of biosphere, leading us to rethink the mode of civilizational development. In order to examine their structural causes and to design a sustainable and convivial future, it is of necessity to create an intellectual platform that promotes dialogue between different academic disciplines. This open research forum aims to connect the diversity of researchers and students in and outside Waseda University. Those who participate can talk about their research interests and exchange their ideas to each other in a relaxed free-style conversation.
